Favorite Chicago Shops & Boutiques

Shopping isn’t exactly my jam, but there are a few locally owned boutiques that I venture out for.

alice & wonder

956 W. Webster Avenue | Chicago

I’d say I have quite a versatile style, and this cute little boutique in Lincoln Park has everything I need. From band tees to summer dresses, I love their clothing & accessories. Plus, that’s where I got one of my absolute favorite tees—the Windy City!

Foursided

2958 N Clark Street | Chicago

I’ve been coming here for years. The Lakeview location is my go-to, but they have a few stores throughout the city. It’s the perfect place to pick up a gift or grab the perfect greeting card. Everything is just so cute & fun…I honestly spend hours in here sometimes. Their prints and custom framing are worth mentioning too. I can thank Foursided for some of my favorite pieces hanging up in our condo.

Penelope’s

1913 W. Division Street | Chicago

Penelope’s will forever hold a spot in my heart. Back in the day at my first big girl job, my twenty-two year old self thought it was a great idea to commute in these four-inch black patent leather heels (Did I mention it was a mile walk from the L to the office?). Mistakes were made. On my lunch break, I hobbled around the corner to find a more comfortable pair of shoes and stumbled upon Penelope’s, a men’s and women’s clothing store with accessories & home goods sprinkled in. Those brown leather booties saved my life, and six years later, I still have them.

Humboldt House

1045 N. California Avenue | Chicago

I actually found out about Humboldt House because of a condo my client’s bought. In the master bathroom was this beautiful triangle mirror—it was so unique. I drove myself crazy trying to find the mirror and finally stumbled upon HH! Their cool & trendy store is filled with the work of local and emerging Chicago makers, eclectic textiles and even a little magic (that’s the word on the street).
