#24 29 Rooms

If you told me in 2010 (the year Instagram was launched), that there would one day be a place curated for the sole purpose of taking instagrammable af pictures, I would have rolled my eyes at you. Here we are in 2018, and I can confidently say I've spent $40 on doing said thing...and it was dope.

Now, let's get a few things straight. I'm sure some of you think of 29 Rooms as the latest fuel for our narcissism, and thats cool. I feel & respect that. Having gone as a person supporting women, the LGBTQIA community, people of color & just people in general while also being able to get really cute photos with one of my girls...well, it was a lot of fun!!

But...what is 29 Rooms? So, 3 years ago Refinery 29 started hosting 29 Rooms as "an interactive funhouse of style, culture, and creativity brought to life by a group of global artists and visionaries across mediums, and powered by you!" Basically it's a very curated event that allows you to create some cool content or to just mess around with some friends. The idea is to be the star of your own show--whatever that might mean.

The really cool part about the whole thing is that this year it was curated by women with installations teaming up with Planned Parenthood, Netflix, Clinique & more. There were installations highlighting race, gender & equality. There were also installations that were just for fun.

Great for friends, family or just by yourself (yes, there are staff on deck to take your photo), I'd highly recommend stopping by 29 Rooms the next time it stops in Chicago.

Located at this year in Chicago's Near West Side.
